Last updated 2 October 2026. This notice explains how we use information that you send through this website. We provide further privacy information about ongoing childcare records when a child takes up a place.

What we collect and why

When you enquire or book a visit, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, message and preferred sessions. We use it to reply, arrange a visit and discuss availability. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you choose to send.

If you use a registration form, it may also ask for your child's name and date of birth, parent or carer details and a preferred booking pattern. We use that information to consider and arrange a childcare place. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a childcare agreement. If your child takes up a place, relevant information becomes part of their childcare record and different retention duties may apply.

If you apply for a job through the linked application form, we use the details you provide to assess your application and contact you about recruitment. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into an employment contract. We may also need to meet legal duties during recruitment. Please use the job form for application details rather than a general enquiry.

We do not add you to marketing messages because you made an enquiry. Please avoid including medical, safeguarding or other sensitive details in a general website message; speak to the team so we can handle them appropriately.

Who we share information with

The relevant preschool team handles your enquiry or application. Tickleford uses Nursery in a Box for its online visit, enquiry, registration and job application forms. Our website host and email provider may process information to deliver the website and messages. We do not pass an enquiry to another preschool unless we ask you first. We may share information where the law requires it or to protect a child.

Nursery in a Box explains its role as a processor for nursery records, including any international transfers, in its privacy policy.

How long we keep it

If an enquiry or registration does not lead to a place, we delete it 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless a specific legal reason requires longer. If a child takes up a place, their childcare record follows the preschool's parent record retention rules. We delete unsuccessful job applications six months after the recruitment decision, unless a specific legal reason requires longer.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete information about you, and you may be able to object to or restrict some uses. Some rights depend on our reason for using the information and any legal duties we have. Contact us or telephone 07557 677715. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Other websites and cookies

We use Google Analytics only if you choose “Accept analytics”. It helps us understand visits, pages viewed, general device or browser information, session-planner use, opening forms, and clicks on phone, email or directions links so we can improve the website. Planner events include only the funding-hours option and counts or types of sessions selected. We do not read embedded form fields or send their contents. Opening a form does not mean it was submitted successfully. Our lawful basis for this analytics processing is your consent. Google receives technical information about your visit and may process it outside the UK, subject to its applicable safeguards. Read Google’s privacy information.

Before you accept, or if you reject, our Google Analytics tag is not loaded. Advertising consent stays disabled. We do not deliberately send names, email addresses, child details or form contents to Analytics. Our page-view events exclude fragments and arbitrary URL query strings. We retain only validated campaign labels (standard UTM parameters) for campaign attribution. Campaign links must never contain names, contact details, child information or other personal information. After analytics consent, we remember these labels for up to 30 minutes in this browser tab; rejecting analytics removes them.

Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits. We configure them to expire after six months. We store your accepted or rejected choice in this browser for six months, separately for each preschool website. This preference storage is used to remember your choice. Use the “Cookie settings” button on any page to change your decision. Rejecting after accepting stops our analytics on reload and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this website. It does not delete information already collected; contact us about your data rights.

Embedded Nursery in a Box forms and Google Maps are separate services. Their cookies and technical processing are governed by their own privacy information; your analytics choice here does not control those services. Google Maps loads only when you choose “Show map”. Links to other websites are subject to those sites’ own notices.
